As China celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2024, the Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, stands out as a testament to three decades of remarkable development.
Over the years, it has emerged as a vibrant hub of innovation, characterized by the rise of three major industrial systems, a strengthened tech innovation brand, and a burgeoning talent pool, all underpinned by steady and comprehensive reforms.
In 2022, Guiyang HIDZ ranked 37th among 169 national high-tech zones in China. The Guizhou Science City, a key zone component, expanded its planned area from 0.12 square kilometers to 20.64 sq km, marking a significant new development phase.
The zone is now home to 353 high-tech enterprises, accounting for 17.6 percent of the province's and 26.6 percent of the city's total.
Guizhou Aviation Technical Development Co and Guizhou Zhenhua E-Chem Inc have thrived here, going public on the Sci-Tech Innovation Board. At the same time, Shiji Hengtong Technology Co and LongMaster Co have been incubated and listed.
Today, Guiyang HIDZ boasts thriving aerospace engines, micro-special motors, and electronic components industrial systems, showcasing its dynamic growth and role as a catalyst for technological advancement in the region.
