The finals of the first Bailu Innovation Valley Entrepreneurship Competition concluded in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) on Sept 13, with 21 teams from both domestic and international backgrounds competing.
Launched concurrently in Guiyang and Shanghai in early July, the competition garnered widespread attention from universities, research institutions, incubators, and enterprises.
A total of 220 teams from 19 regions across the globe registered to participate. After the preliminary rounds, 60 teams advanced to the semifinals, with 21 teams ultimately making it to the finals.
During the finals, the 21 teams presented their projects, focusing on key industries including electronic information manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles, software information technology services, health and pharmaceuticals, and future industries.
They showcased their product development, technological innovation, social value, market potential, and development plans, while also engaging in Q&A sessions with the judges.
The winners of the first, second and third prizes received rewards of 15,000 yuan ($2,083.33), 10,000 yuan, and 6,000 yuan, respectively. Teams that won third place or higher and register their projects in Guiyang HIDZ within three months will receive an additional 20,000 yuan landing reward.
Additionally, projects that are carried out in the zone will be given priority recommendations on the zone's incubation platforms, which offer preferential incubation spaces, free entrepreneurial guidance, training, operational support, and comprehensive incubation services.
These projects will also receive priority access to investment and financing services as well as talent support.
