On July 10, the 2024 Summer Series of Technology Innovation and Achievement Exchange activities at the Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Southwest China's Guizhou province continued with a vibrant and insightful industry exchange focused on big data development.
The half-day event brought together experts, corporate executives, and officials from provincial, municipal, and district levels to delve into the theme of "Collaborative Innovation for Development, Open Cooperation for a Shared Future."
The discussions centered on the latest trends and opportunities in big data, strategies for advancing the digital economy, and the landmark establishment of the Big Data Industry Committee under the Guizhou Science City Industrial Co-Governance Council.
The event commenced with a presentation by Gao Shan, deputy director of the National Engineering Research Center for Big Data Applications in Enhancing Government Governance Capabilities.

Gao outlined the work that went into the creation of the Big Data Industry Committee and its work plan for 2024-25, emphasizing the committee's role as a vital bridge for fostering industry communication and collaboration.
The committee aims to drive innovation and application in big data technology, reinforcing Guizhou Science City's position as the core area of China's first National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
During the industry technology innovation exchange session, Cao Yang, secretary-general of the National Technology Standards Innovation Base (Guizhou Big Data), highlighted the critical role of standardization in the digital transformation process.
He noted that standardization not only facilitates the conversion of big data into tangible digital transformation outcomes but also serves as a key tool for the large-scale promotion of exemplary results.
