A ceremony honoring "National Outstanding Engineering Teams" recently took place in Beijing, where a team comprising representatives from two enterprises in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) was recognized and awarded the prestigious title.
The team, responsible for the construction of bridges in the mountainous regions and canyons of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is led by Han Hongju, Chief Engineer of Guizhou Communications Construction Group Co. The team consists of 16 bridge experts who come from several local enterprises and departments, including the Guizhou Highway Department.
Through collaborative efforts, the team overcame problems that stem from complex and ever-changing mountainous environments. Traditional methods and large-scale equipment are inadequate when it comes to building bridges in such environments, as ecological fragility also poses significant challenges.

The team pioneered seven internationally leading technologies involved in bridge construction, which allowed them to successfully build 12 "world-first" bridges.
Notably, the Pingtang Bridge, which swept three major international bridge awards, was designed and built by this exceptional team.
To date, the team has participated in the construction of 34 bridges that are among the world's top 100 tallest bridges, earning six international awards and securing 56 invention patents.
