POWER CHINA Guiyang Engineering Corporation Limited, a resident company of the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guizhou province, recently signed eight project contracts, marking a good start for the new year.
The projects involve hydropower, solar power, wind power, and other energy categories. Half of the signed projects are from outside the province.
Among them are the Changbo Hydropower Station, which will be located in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River; the Qiannan Pumped Storage Power Station; and the Huaneng Lingcheng Houma Wind Power Project.
The Qiannan Pumped Storage Power Station will be located in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture in Guizhou province, adjacent to the load center in Guiyang city.
With a total installed capacity of 1,500MW, the project's key infrastructure consists of upper and lower reservoirs, water conveyance systems, underground powerhouses, and surface switchyards.
Once completed, this pumped storage power station will undertake tasks such as peak load regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency and phase modulation, and emergency backup for the power system in Guizhou.
It will play a significant role in ensuring power supply and grid safety, promoting the integration of new energy, and driving the transformation towards green and low-carbon energy.
