A symposium was recently held at the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Southwest China's Guizhou province to support the development of high-tech enterprises.
Representatives from 20 high-tech companies in the jurisdiction were invited to discuss tax issues and development.
During the symposium, the taxation bureau of Guiyang HIDZ discussed what is needed to boost the high-quality development of hi-tech enterprises and answered questions on tax policy implementation raised by the companies.
Emphasis was placed on promoting a better understanding of tax-related preferential policies, such as one policy on deducting R&D expenses and another on tax reductions for hi-tech enterprises.
Meanwhile, the zone's bureau of science and technology innovation explained the criteria and application process for identifying hi-tech enterprises and answered companies' policy-related questions.
During an interactive session, company representatives made suggestions about how to improve the quality of the tax services offered.
