Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, released a report on the 2022 talent shortage index on April 26.

This report is based on the talent demand released by employers in its jurisdiction last year, including the demand for 34,900 talents in 7,935 positions and the manner in which 907,000 people delivered their resumes to prospective employers.

It uses the talent shortage index (TSI) as an indicator and comprehensively analyzes the supply and demand of talents in Guiyang HIDZ.

According to the report, the top industries in the HIDZ that are suffering from talent shortages are medicine, bioengineering, manufacturing, internet, energy, environmental protection, communications, electronic technology semiconductor integrated appliances, finance, transportation, aviation, aerospace, real estate, and construction.

From the perspective of academic qualifications, undergraduates were in the last demand while those with college certificates were the most sought after.

Judging by the posted work experience requirements, employers in the Guiyang HIDZ are more inclined to hire young talents who have already worked for one or two years.

The top-ranked positions in need of being filled include internet front-end development, internet product manager, technical support engineer, IT project manager, IT operation and maintenance, technical support, city manager, solution engineer, operation engineer, and data management.
