Foreign trade in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, performed well in the first 10 months of this year.
From January to October, Guiyang HIDZ saw its imports and exports grow 35 percent year-on-year, while 13 new foreign trade enterprises set up operations in the zone.
Since the beginning of this year, Guiyang HIDZ has formulated a work plan for foreign trade enterprise visits and services.
Officials have visited and investigated local resident foreign trade enterprises, exploring foreign trade business information and the development of new foreign trade models.
Guiyang HIDZ has also begun directly utilizing foreign capital to boost the development of local foreign trade.
Thanks to the zone's business promotion efforts, six local companies expanded their international market for the first time this year, and their import and export trade with South Korea, Indonesia and other countries over the past 10 months totaled 20 million yuan ($2.85 million).
Meanwhile, Guiyang HIDZ convinced Sichuan Agricultural Production Materials Group and Gesongte (Chongqing) Supply Chain Co to register companies involved in agricultural product export and cross-border business in the zone.
Moreover, local resident PIX Moving signed an equity acquisition agreement with Japanese company TIS INTEC Group, obtaining $8.5 million in overseas financing.
In addition, Guiyang HIDZ is committed to cultivating and building a provincial-level digital service export innovation and development platform.
Over the past three years, the zone's digital service exports totaled $200 million, accounting for 64.11 percent of the city's digital service exports. It was also successfully approved as a Guizhou Provincial Digital Service Export Base.
