The Guiyang High-tech Entrepreneurship Service Center in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was rated as an excellent technology enterprise incubator at an annual evaluation, the only one in the city to obtain such an honor.
The news was announced by the Guiyang science and technology bureau on Oct 19.
The evaluation was based on the work completed by Guiyang's 15 incubation carriers above provincial level in 2021, mainly focusing on service capability, incubation performance and social contribution.
A total of 27 related specific assessment indicators were included.
Guiyang High-tech Entrepreneurship Service Center, the first national-level technology business incubator in Guizhou province, focuses on electronic information, new materials, and biomedicine among other industries, and promotes the construction of a full chain of entrepreneurial incubation and industrial cultivation.
It provides comprehensive support via funds, venues and talent introduction in the inception stage, start-up stage, growth stage and mature stage of an enterprise.
To date, the center has incubated more than 2,800 enterprises and cultivated over 400 high-level talents.
By providing multi-faceted services such as entrepreneurial venues and project establishment support, the center helps scientific research personnel to innovate and start businesses, while also strengthening employability.
To support innovation and entrepreneurship among college students, the center has invested 25 million yuan in funds to complete the upgrading and transformation of a college student entrepreneurial park.
The park only charges a rent of 15 yuan per square meter per month for office space used by enterprises started by college students, which is more than 50 percent lower than the market price.
Due to such policies, more than 100 enterprises have set up operations in the park and 575 college students have found employment.
In addition, a total of 24 enterprises, universities and research institutes have agreed to 43 cooperation projects.
