Guiyang Fudi Battery Co in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, achieved an output value of 3.4 billion yuan ($510.13 million) in the first half of this year.
The output value accounts for 68 percent of the annual 5-billion-yuan target set by the enterprise for the whole year.
The Guiyang HIDZ enterprise is a power battery provider for new energy vehicles made by BYD, a leading automaker in China.
Its battery plant was officially put into production in May 2021. Currently, a total of six production lines have been built with a production capacity of 15Gwh.
"The blade batteries we produce have passed the most stringent acupuncture tests for safety requirements," according to the person in charge of related projects of the enterprise.
The enterprise uses high-temperature ceramic coatings with high-temperature resistance and excellent insulation properties in the high-risk safety sites of the batteries. The technology greatly improves the safety performance of the battery, and has the advantages of high-volume energy density, high discharge rate, long life and long battery life.
Since the beginning of this year, the sales of new energy vehicles across the country have been booming, and the enterprise has seized the opportunity to expand its production capacity.
The second phase of the project, which received a 3-billion-yuan investment from the enterprise in Guiyang HIDZ, has entered the environmental impact assessment stage.
It is expected to start construction in August this year.
When all the production lines are put into operation, the enterprise will have a total annual production capacity of 30Gwh, and its annual output value is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan.
