A scientific research project being carried out by an enterprise from the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently awarded the top prize in the Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards.
This was announced at the Guizhou Provincial Scientific and Technological Innovation and Science and Technology Award Conference held in Guiyang on May 27.
The award-winning item is a high-quality sand and gravel preparation technology and its application in an energy-saving, environmentally-friendly and intelligent way (GEPI).
It is being jointly developed by Guizhou Changtong Electric Co, University of Science and Technology Beijing, the Guizhou Academy of Sciences and Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
It has been revealed that during the R&D process technology, Guiyang HIDZ-based Guizhou Changtong Electric Co is responsible for the research and development of online monitoring intelligent controls and early warning intelligent preparation systems, providing power equipment adapted to the intelligent control environment and inventively solving problems related to the intelligent control of the GEPI preparation process.
The achievements of this scientific research project have overcome global technical bottlenecks related to sand and gravel product quality control and green and low-carbon preparation.
The project has provided high-performance concrete with machine-made sand and gravel for major national and local projects.
The sand and gravel using GEPI's high-quality machine-made sand and gravel preparation process have been widely used in hydropower, nuclear power, high-speed rail, airports, highways, bridges, high-rise buildings and other industries.
