The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ), the first national-level high-tech industrial zone in Southwest China's Guizhou province, has embarked on a path of rapid economic development path over the past few years.
In the past five years, the Guiyang High-tech Zone has been working to develop industries involving advanced equipment manufacturing, electronic information manufacturing and new energy, as well as strengthen its real economy.
Due to such efforts, the overall scale of enterprises in the Guiyang HIDZ had been greatly increased, and the comprehensive strength and market competitiveness have reached a new level.

Since 2017, the added value of large-scale industries in the Guiyang HIDZ has maintained an annual growth rate of more than 20 percent, while the total output value of large-scale industries has reached 68.9 billion yuan ($10.34 billion) in total.
Meanwhile, Guiyang HIDZ's fixed asset investment over the five-year period reached 55.7 billion yuan, and its industrial investment came in at 27.6 billion yuan.
Moreover, it invested 36.5 billion yuan in major provincial projects.
After years of construction and development, the Guiyang HIDZ is now home to 341 nationally recognized high-tech enterprises, 248 R&D institutions (including 27 national R&D institutions), 442 innovation service institutions, and 60 business incubators (including nine at the national level and five at the provincial level).
In addition, it is home to 4,782 high-level talents and 65,000 total talents.
Additionally, it has been approved to pilot 30 national demonstration projects, including becoming a National Big Data Industry Technology Innovation Pilot Zone, National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base, and National New Industrialization Industry Demonstration Base.
