A smart health laboratory will be built in Southwest China's Guizhou province, according to information from the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ).
It was based on an agreement recently reached between an expert team led by Chen Runsheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Guiyang HIDZ-based National Engineering Research Center on Improving Government Governance Capabilities and Big Data Application Technology.
It was introduced to tackle existing problems related to a shortage of grassroots medical capacity, which results in high medical expenses, insufficient medical resources and difficulties in medical treatment.

The laboratory will aim to build a health center for intelligent social governance in Guizhou province, carry out research into intelligent social governance, and explore the operation model, standard specifications, policy systems, and institutional mechanisms for intelligent health governance.
It will help with the high-quality development of health and sanitation and accelerate Guizhou's development of intelligent social governance.
