The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, or Guiyang HIDZ – administered by Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – reportedly ranked 39th on the 2021 list of national-level industrial parks, climbing three places above its rating in 2020.
The results were recently announced by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
A total of 157 high-tech zones at the national level were included in the evaluation and assessment work.
In the individual rankings, the Guiyang HIDZ ranked 47th in "innovation ability and entrepreneurial activity", 33rd in "structural optimization and the industrial value chain", and 51st in "green development, livability and inclusiveness".
It also ranked 50th in "opening-up, innovation and international competitiveness", as well as 33rd in "comprehensive quality and efficiency and continuous innovation".
The results indicated that the Guiyang HIDZ enjoys certain competitive advantages gained from improvement in economic efficiency, the development of the high-tech service industry and the cultivation of leading innovative enterprises.
Moreover, it is understood that there is still room for improvement in the output of innovative achievements, energy conservation and consumption reduction and the promotion of employment.
