A team from Southwest China's Guizhou province won third place during a national drone application skills competition focused on river and lake supervision, according to information from the entrepreneurship service center of Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
The zone is also known as Guiyang HIDZ and it is located in Guiyang, Guizhou's provincial capital.
The team's coaches were staff members from Skyview Tech, a company based in Guiyang HIDZ. They were responsible for the training and operation guidance of team members, providing basic theoretical knowledge of drones, flight operations, information collection on rivers and lakes, three-dimensional modeling, rapid data processing, and more.
Hosted by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Agricultural, Forestry, Water Conservancy and Meteorological Workers' Union of China, the competition was participated in by 13 teams from across China and the finals were held in Shanghai.
