Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, or Guiyang HIDZ – located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is moving into the magnetic data storage tape business.
On May 27, the zone and Fujifilm (China) Investment Co Ltd signed a cooperation agreement during the 2021 China International Big Data Industry Expo, which took place in the city on May 26-28.
They established a partnership at a seminar during the expo, focusing on the value and prospects for data tape storage in Guiyang's big data applications development.
Under the agreement, the two sides will grasp the opportunities created by the increasing growth in low-carbon environmental protection and big data storage and utilization, to establish cooperation in cloud computing, video security, medical and health services and artificial intelligence, among others.
They will reportedly give full play to their respective advantages in resources, management, services, technology and production, and will establish corresponding group standards, industry standards and national standards for big data storage.
In addition, the two will build a cold data storage laboratory or exhibition center based on data tape storage solutions in Guiyang. This will be to maximize the advantages of tape storage and boost Guiyang's prosperity amid the flourishing digital economy.
Fujifilm (China) Investment was established in 2001 in Shanghai by the Japanese corporation Fujifilm, boasting advanced cutting-edge technologies in the fields of data storage and cold data applications.
