With the Ministry of Commerce's approval, Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) was officially upgraded from a national science and technology innovation promotion commerce base to a national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base, according to local media reports on Jan 13.
The development zone is located in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The national foreign trade transformation and upgrading base is an industrial cluster with the functions of production and export, and the base is supported and developed by the State.
It is an important measure to promote the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade, adjust the current foreign trade structure and cultivate new competitive advantages and new development energy. It is also an important platform and carrier to expand opening-up and investment attraction.
The approval of Guiyang HIDZ is expected to further promote the high-quality development of the zone's export-oriented economy and provide strong support for the area to brand itself favorably, realize industrial agglomeration and encourage foreign trade growth.
The zone will continue to accelerate the new "dual circulation" development model and continue to offer better services and guidance for resident enterprises' development.
