A raft of companies resident in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- are lobbying hard for new opportunities at the ongoing 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai which runs to Nov 10.
The businesses are working to make full use of the expo as a promotional platform, to attract top investment projects from elsewhere in China and from abroad.
The zone is aiming to expand imports of advanced equipment, consumer goods, raw materials, technology and services, as well as to sell the investment advantages of Guiyang and the zone to the rest of the world.
During the expo, Guiyang HIDZ is expected to sign contracts for three projects -- two investment projects with total funding of $30.4 million and one trade sourcing project with a contract amount of $102 million.
