Four companies based in the Guiyang National High-tech Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- stood out among 28 enterprises competing in the Guizhou division finals of the 9th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and made into the national competition on Sept 14, according to local media reports.
The competition aims to create a public platform supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, or SMEs.
The competition's organizers said the final evaluation process was carried out in the form of on-site company project roadshows, scoring by expert judges, real-time statistics compiled by staff members and the on-site announcement of the results.
A total of 28 enterprises from various cities, counties and industrial zones entered the Guizhou finals. After fierce competition, Guizhou recommended 11 companies represent the province at the national competition, including seven growth enterprises and four start-ups.
