Corporate employees in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- carried out voluntary work on July 17, helping the city to win its fourth "National Civilized City" title, Guiyang HIDZ officials said.
According to local media reports, over 100 members of staff and employees from the Big Data Maker Park management office and the Guiyang HIDZ management committee -- as well as employees from resident enterprises, property management firms, hotels and catering enterprises -- participated in the voluntary activity.
During the activity, volunteers tied symbolic green ribbons on their arms, as they picked up scraps of paper, plastic bags and household garbage from sidewalks and along the green belt. At the same time, they pulled out weeds on the sidewalks.
