A database designed by a company resident in the Guiyang National High-tech Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- wowed the judges in the latest 2020 "Maker in China" small and medium-sized enterprises innovation and entrepreneurship competition, according to Guiyang HIDZ officials.
They said the integrated distributed database designed by Guizhou Esgyn Information Technology Co Ltd, stood out among 55 candidate projects in the finals of Guiyang division of the competition -- winning first prize in the enterprises group on July 1.
The Guiyang division of the national competition started its selections in May and as many as 110 projects have participated in this round of the competition.
They've covered a wide range of industry fields including the digital economy, pharmaceuticals manufacturing and advanced equipment manufacturing.
Zone officials said that winner Esgyn Information Technology Co Ltd has been engaged in database research and development for nearly 30 years. It has one of the few database teams in China that take on database core module research and development.
The core product of the company is the next generation of integrated distributed databases -- breaking new ground to solve the underlying database technology problems of China's banking, insurance, securities and other financial core trading systems.
Guiyang HIDZ officials said the unique performance of the database can support the integration management requirements of emerging technologies -- such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, blockchain -- for real-time massive data fusion management in the 5G era.
