Tackling poverty was top of the agenda when the brand institute of the global Guizhou PhD candidates club in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- held a training session on online live-streaming at the Liuzhi special zone in Liupanshui city in the province on June 10.
To assist the Liuzhi special zone to open up more sales channels for agricultural and special products, PhD candidates offered suggestions on how to help locals in their push to lift themselves out of poverty through e-commerce.
The global PhD candidates club of Guizhou is a public welfare platform based in the Guiyang HIDZ, which harnesses a network of more than 2,000 Guizhou PhD candidates from all over the world to help their hometown's development, through the power of a think tank.
During the training, Wang Jun, president of the club's brand research institute, said that marketing that combined offline and online methods had become a hot trend and Liuzhi special zone should adapt to it.
He suggested that companies should reconsider their long-term development strategy and at the same time promote brand inheritance and brand innovation. He said they should keep up with the trend of the times and use live-streaming marketing.
Looking at social e-commerce, the vice president of the research institute discussed how to cultivate brands at the event.
Meanwhile, a company founder talked about how to build a popular live-streaming studio, how to do a good job in personal positioning and research, as well as how to be proficient in product selection and product pricing.
He also guided and trained attendees on live-streaming operations' training.
In addition, the brand research institute also held a symposium with the Liuzhi special zone's cultural, radio, television and tourism bureau on in-depth communications and exchanges.
Both sides agreed that the event was a good start.
The next step would be to rely on the vast number of doctoral think tank resources of the research institute. The idea is for the institute to provide the brain power for all-round cooperation in science and technology innovation, brand upgrading, project research, industrial integration and other aspects of industry in Liuzhi special zone.
