AI body temperature measurement terminals equipped with an online monitoring and tracing platform have recently gone into use in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Guiyang HIDZ officials said.
They said the initiative was taken to reduce the risk of cross infection and ensure the safe and smooth resumption of production by companies in the zone, according to local media reports on Feb 19.
The system behind AI body temperature measurement terminals and its corresponding online monitoring platform was developed by the Guizhou branch of CASICloud-Tech Co Ltd – a firm located at the Guiyang HIDZ.
Officials said it uses infrared thermal imaging, cloud computing, the internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence algorithms, face databases and model databases.
At present, the online platform for the system has been released and 1,000 offline AI human body temperature measurement terminals are also being installed.
According to spokesman of the company, the AI system can not only quickly and accurately measure and screen body temperatures, it can warn about abnormal body temperatures, carry out face recognition and view and backtrack video data.
At the same time, it can among other things also monitor the body temperatures of a large numbers of people, quickly find and track people with high body temperatures and send out alarm signals.
It can also conduct online real-time monitoring, issue early warnings, approvals and conduct analysis of collected big data related to epidemic prevention.
This is conducive to achieving real-time rapid responses and all-weather monitoring easily.
The company spokesman said that once the epidemic is over, the system can continue to be used in corporate management.
It can help companies in such areas as recording personnel attendance and can be upgraded in accordance with enterprises' needs, helping them to achieve digital management.
