The first group of 25 enterprises located at the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang -- capital of southwestern Guizhou province -- resumed to work and production on Feb 10.
According to Guiyang HIDZ officials, there are 65 industrial enterprises above a designated size -- a statistic term referring to companies with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.87 million) or more -- in the zone.
The second batch of groups will resume production in February, officials said, adding that the precise time they restart output will depend on the current situation with the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Since the outbreak prevention and control work in the zone was launched, it has distributed a manual for enterprises, comprehensively teaching them how to resume work and production smoothly while preventing the spread of the epidemic.
One example is resident group Yanuang Electronics. Following the manual, it prepared 5,000 masks, 200 kilograms of disinfectant and five thermometers, the firm's spokesman said.
He added that at the same time, the company had also checked the whereabouts of all its staff.
For employees who have virus symptoms or have contact history with patients, the company has informed them not to return, and to stay at home.
Furthermore, the company will check the body temperatures of employees before going to and from work every day. It has also made arrangements to keep the office area clean and ventilated four times a day for 20-30 minutes at a time.
The company is also requiring employees to wear disposable medical masks correctly during the whole work period -- and used masks must be put into special garbage cans for treatment.
