A drugs firm in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) is going flat out to meet the urgent needs of the domestic market and patients experiencing supply problems in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, Guiyang HIDZ officials said.
Since Feb 2 Guizhou Hanfang Pharmaceutical Co Ltd – located in Guiyang HIDZ in the capital of southwestern Guizhou province, organized for 120 of its staff to work overtime to produce a batch of drugs needed to combat the epidemic.
At the same time, the company also moved to fully guarantee the health and safety of its people. Every day, the body temperatures of the overtime workers are measured and recorded.
Guiyang HIDZ officials said that in addition, the public areas, corridors and passages in the company are disinfected twice daily, while work clothes worn by the staff are cleaned, disinfected and dried every day.
According to a spokesman for Guizhou Hanfang Pharmaceutical Co, the production of six kinds of drugs currently in short supply will be finished on Feb 29 and the products transported to major pharmacies across the country to ensure market supply.
Since Jan 26, the company has organized relevant departments work overtime and given instructions that because of the current situation, the drugs will still be sold to pharmacies at normal prices.
At the same time, the company has paid close attention to the market in traditional Chinese medicine and says it is ready to produce and purchase the scarce traditional Chinese medicines at any time.
