The government affairs service center at the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang -- capital southwestern Guizhou province --took major steps in the face of the novel coronavirus outbreak, Guiyang HIDZ officials said.
From Feb 3, it suspended its physical services and instead offered and promoted online services, in a move to prevent the spread of the disease.
According to local officials, residents can either download a mobile app or use an applet through WeChat to handle their affairs.
In case of emergencies that need to be handled in person, residents can negotiate with the staff on the time, place and method of handling them through the telephone, an online appointment or a consultation, officials said.
