Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has rapidly mobilized its resources in the fight against the novel coronavirus, according to Guiyang HIDZ officials.
They said it has published a detailed work plan for coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control at an ad hoc meeting, according to local media reports on Jan 26.
Under the plan, the Guiyang HIDZ has defined three important aspects to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
First, the zone decided to strengthen the management and control of its live poultry market, prohibit the private sale of wild animals and close the live poultry market.
In addition, the zone determined to strengthen the ventilation, disinfection and implement other health and disease prevention measures in the government service center, supermarkets, and hotels.
It is undertaking public health education and publicity and closely monitoring personnel leaving and returning home one by one, within the scope its responsibility.
Second, the zone decided to launch a reporting system for fever patients and patients with pneumonia of unknown causes.
Officials said this was to take isolation measures, to conduct nearby treatment of suspect infectious diseases and to implement localized management of epidemic prevention and control.
At the same time, the zone announced it would further strengthen its overall virus prevention and control measures, inspect personnel coming from Wuhan, as well as supervise the agricultural trade market and environmental sanitation.
In addition, the zone announced it would publicly release statements on the epidemic situation and clarify any false rumors.
Officials said it will control activities, such as meetings and investigations and reinforce the hygiene management and disinfection work of catering, food processing, production and allied operations, especially in public places.
Third, the zone announced that once suspected cases of the coronavirus are found, they must be treated as soon as possible.
