Intelligent outdoor cabinets independently developed by Zhicheng Technology Co Ltd -- a company operating in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, or Guiyang HIDZ -- have been installed in the streets of Guiyang, promising to deliver an intelligent road traffic system, according to local media reports on Dec 18.
The reports said that the outdoor boxes integrate traffic signal lights, an electronic police system, networks and other management modules.
These monitor the operational status of front-end equipment and environmental monitoring in real time -- and they recently went into operation at multiple intersections in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Utilizing advanced technologies -- such as big data, the internet of things and edge computing to upgrade the intelligent transportation of Guiyang -- the outdoor cabinets are part of a solution from Zhicheng Technology called the Specification for the Construction of Intelligent Transportation System.
According to local media reports, the project was approved as a provincial local standardization project in the fourth batch list of local standardization development projects issued by the Administration for Market Regulation of Guizhou Province in November 2019.
Officials said that after the approval of the standard, relevant research and development work will continue to be promoted.
After the new system is officially released, it will effectively alleviate urban congestion in Guiyang and help the construction of an intelligent transportation network in Guiyang.
The intelligent outdoor cabinet is equipped with a communications module, an environmental monitoring terminal and other intelligent modules.
In the background management system, environmental data is monitored by cameras and transmission equipment, fans and other electrical equipment can be monitored in real time.
In case of equipment failure, the background management system will integrate all the data uploaded by the equipment.
It will automatically carry out fault locations and analysis, linking geographic positioning of cabinet to achieve accurate equipment management.
At the same time, the intelligent outdoor cabinet can give an alarm, restart faulty equipment remotely in the background management system -- without the presence of operating and maintenance personnel.
