Big data, AI competition for college students concludes

An awards ceremony for the big data and artificial intelligence skills applications competition for college students was held in Guiyang, capital city of southwestern Guizhou province on Dec 16, local officials said.

They said a team from Guizhou Education University won first prize and was awarded a 50,000 yuan ($7130.12) bonus.

Guizhou Yiyun Big Data Service Co Ltd, Guizhou Boyuan Xunling Education Technology Co Ltd – an group located in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) – Dell Inc, Tencent Cloud, Oracle and other top enterprises in the industry, as well as 12 universities in the province jointly staged the competition.

The three-month event attracted 321 teams and more than 1,100 college students from 12 universities in the province.

Under the influence of top enterprises in the industry, the competition mainly promoted industrial development and industry employment.

At the same time, starting from the actual needs of enterprises, each round of the competition was mainly based on intelligent manufacturing.
