A triumphant team from Guiyang Engineering Corporation Limited -- located in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone -- recently won gold at a prestigious television competition, according to the organizers.
The group, which is a unit of Power Construction Corporation of China, is located in the Guiyang HIDZ.
The team representing Guizhou won the gold medal in the TV challenge competition of the China Innovation Methods Competition (CIMC) -- held at Hunan Broadcasting System in Changsha, capital city of central Hunan province on Nov 27.
Previously, the team won the first prize in the CIMC national finals and successfully reached the top 11 of the TV challenge competition by virtue of what the judges described as its innovative work in "solving the world problem of deep venting technology for super high dam and large reservoir projects".
A special event of the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2019 CIMC is jointly sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Hunan provincial people's government.
More than 50,000 engineers from 31 regional competition areas, over 1,000 companies and 2,000 teams participated in the competition.
The top 11 teams of the CIMC national finals participated in three rounds of games in the TV challenge.
The judges determined the ranking of the teams based on the performance of the players in quick answers, on-site practice, function demonstrations, scheme explanations and other aspects.
The term 'innovation method' refers to a sharp tool that is used in industry to improve the ability of companies to innovate and increases the success rate of innovation. Experts say it is being widely used in innovative countries.
The organizers said the latest event saw top innovative talents from all over the country compete with each other.
