A search program for waste sorting was launched on Oct 1 on the Zhuminsheng app and the WeChat official account for Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) – a zone in Guiyang, capital city of southwestern Guizhou province.
On July 5 this year, the Guiyang government issued an advisory notice for the municipal government and institutions to implement the mandatory waste sorting in an all-round way.
Officials said in response, the urban management and law enforcement agencies of Guiyang HIDZ worked with the Zhuminsheng platform and created the waste sorting guide search program.
In the wake of the program launch locals can now use their phones to find out about the types of waste and the requirements for waste sorting anytime and anywhere.
The Zhuminsheng app was launched in 2017. By the beginning of this year, it had registered more than 400,000 people and provided more than 200 services to Guiyang locals.
Officials said it is one of the "big data + livelihood services" measures implemented by Guiyang.
