Guizhou East Century Science and Technology Co Ltd and Huawei Technologies Co Ltd jointly released the world's fastest flood forecast plan at Huawei Connect 2019, held in Shanghai on Sept 18.
Guizhou East Century Science and Technology Co Ltd is located at Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
In the past 19 years, the company has focused on the field of flood prediction and built a general flood prediction model.
In the cooperation with Huawei, the company has made its big data system compatible with the Kunpeng cloud platform of Huawei.
A company spokesman said that by using the big data cluster of the platform, the computing performance has been improved by 18 percent.
This has made it possible to improve the early warning speed, completing the flood prediction calculation in 2 minutes and 20 seconds, solving the problem of flood predictions in regions without data in China. The company spokesman said that the platform employs the fastest algorithm known in the world.
The Huawei-East Century flood control and drought relief monitoring and early warning solution has passed Huawei technical tests and obtained the Huawei technical certification and right to use the "HUAWEI COMPATIBLE" logo.
