Wudang fosters specialized, sophisticated SMEs

To accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading, Wudang district in Guiyang has in recent years focused on cultivating specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), helping high-quality industrial businesses grow.

The district has established a full-chain cultivation system, providing financial subsidies, organizing technical training, and creating a three-tier development pipeline for SMEs – from innovative SMEs to provincial-level specialized and sophisticated enterprises and national-level "little giant" enterprises. Enterprises with strong specialization, innovative capacity, and growth potential are selected for targeted support.

Currently, Wudang is home to five national-level specialized and sophisticated "little giant" enterprises, 27 provincial-level specialized and sophisticated enterprises, and 31 provincial-level innovative SMEs.

Guizhou Feilongyu Industrial Group is one of the district's cultivated specialized and sophisticated SMEs. With 32 years of experience in the drinking water industry, the company has gradually established a comprehensive quality control system covering the entire production and service process. It possesses 63 authorized intellectual property rights and has been recognized as a provincial-level AAA quality credit enterprise.

In 2015, the company invested more than 22 million yuan ($3.25 million) to develop a big data operations platform, which integrates water stations, delivery personnel, and customer resources across Guizhou province, enabling intelligent order dispatching and more efficient delivery services.

Driven by digital technologies, the company has seen steady improvements in operational performance. The platform's transaction volume exceeded 110 million yuan in 2023, while the group achieved an output value of 79 million yuan in 2025.
