Wudang expands smart community fitness facilities for residents

Guiyang's Wudang district has continued to improve its public fitness service system in recent years by transforming unused community spaces into convenient sports venues, enabling residents to enjoy healthier lifestyles closer to home.

At the smart fitness venue in Shangshan Yujing residential community, table tennis courts, pickleball courts, and intelligent fitness facilities are available free of charge for residents. Since its launch in October 2023, the venue has become popular among residents for its smart features and convenience.

All fitness equipment is installed under solar-powered canopy shelters that provide shade and rain protection while being energy-efficient. The facilities are also equipped with intelligent monitoring systems that allow residents to scan a QR code to access real-time workout data, including exercise volume and calorie consumption.

"In the past, I had to go to a park for exercise. Now I can simply come downstairs to work out," said Zhu Yongzhi, a community resident. "I often bring my granddaughter here because it’s both convenient and safe."

Wudang district has already built smart fitness venues in residential communities across five urban subdistricts and plans to further expand its public fitness projects to more residential communities and townships in 2026.
