Songxi River Wetland Park in Guiyang's Wudang district revealed a green scene in March, with crystal-clear streams winding through lush landscapes, rolling hills, and greenery, creating a picturesque setting. Residents were exercising, relaxing, and enjoying nature here.

As the "mother river" of Wudang and an important tributary of the Nanming River, Songxi River stretches 9.3 kilometers through the urban area. The wetland park built around the river covers 19.2 hectares and, after ecological restoration and landscape improvements, has become an important destination for residents seeking nature, leisure, and wellness.

In recent years, Wudang has continued to uphold the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", thereby promoting wetland park development. It has created a series of ecological spaces, including Songxi River Wetland Park, Dalongtan Ecological Wetland Park, Huanxi Road Wetland Park, and Yudongxia Wetland Park.

Wudang's wetland parks have expanded beyond their traditional ecological functions, developing a new model that combines ecology, leisure, culture and industry. The green spaces have attracted sports events, ecological education programs and team-building activities, while also boosting local consumption and related industries.

In 2026, Wudang passed a review by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and retained its title as a national demonstration base for the "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" initiative.
