Wudang passes re-evaluation of innovation base

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has completed a nationwide review of ecological civilization demonstration zones and "two mountains" innovation bases, which embody the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". Wudang passed the re-evaluation, retaining its national title as a “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” practice innovation base.

Wudang has steadily advanced ecological governance, achieving notable results. Between 2017 and 2025, the district's forest coverage rate rose to 59.99 percent, ranking first in Guiyang. By 2024, the compliance rate of surface water and various water quality monitoring sections reached 100 percent, with excellent performance in solid waste and harmless waste disposal metrics. The air quality rate has remained consistently above 96.5 percent.

The district has established four integrated development models: "big data, big health, comprehensive tourism, and ecological agriculture", and pioneered the "two mountains" index monitoring system. As a provincial model area for the big health industry, Wudang’s pharmaceutical sector accounts for one-third of Guiyang's output and one-fifth of Guizhou’s. Additionally, the district has implemented 18 rural complex projects, advancing rural land reform and industrial park construction.

Efforts to enhance urban-rural ecological infrastructure include comprehensive garbage collection and transportation in rural areas, as well as coordinated initiatives for forest restoration and the creation of micro-parks.

Wudang has earned several prestigious titles, such as the National Comprehensive Tourism Demonstration Zone and one of China's Top 100 Green Development Districts. By using ecological industries, the district has simultaneously bolstered economic growth, environmental protection, and societal well-being.
