Wudang's New Year activities prove popular

During the New Year's Day holiday in 2026, Wudang district in Guiyang hosted a series of cultural and tourism activities. According to the Wudang cultural and tourism department, the district's A-level scenic spots received a total of 16,700 visitors, with hot spring attractions packed with tourists.

A variety of themed events were launched in the area. Songxi River Wetland Park hosted a springtime running event, drawing nearly a thousand participants. The Xingguangli Industrial Park held a Guiyang Street Music Concert alongside cultural performance activities.

Meanwhile, the ongoing family winter tour program, which had been launched in December 2025, continued, taking families to farms, workshops, and guesthouses across several townships. This treasure-hunt-style event was aimed at promoting rural tourism development.

Hot spring wellness tourism is a signature cultural and tourism attraction in Wudang. The district arranged for four major hot spring venues to host the Hot Spring Festival, featuring immersive experiences, handicraft workshops, and folk culture interactions, making it a popular choice among visitors.

Wudang district will focus on four key areas – hot spring wellness, rural leisure, cultural experiences, and sports and fitness – as it seeks to promote the integration of culture and tourism, enrich cultural and tourism product offerings, and drive the steady development of the tourism industry.
