Wudang district has focused on developing two leading industries – health and pharmaceuticals, and electronic information manufacturing – during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), while simultaneously cultivating eco-friendly specialty food and other supporting sectors.

The district is rapidly advancing the layout of strategic emerging industries, injecting strong momentum into high-quality development.

In the health and pharmaceutical sector, the smart packaging production line of Guizhou Warmen Pharmaceutical Co has significantly boosted efficiency, increasing packaging capacity by 30 percent and reducing labor costs by 40 percent. As a key provincial leading enterprise, Warmen Pharmaceutical recorded an output value of 412 million yuan ($58.4 million) last year and holds 55 authorized national patents and over 200 awards. Wudang district is now home to 10 above-scale health and pharmaceutical enterprises, holding 149 approved drug numbers and forming a relatively complete industrial chain.

The electronic information manufacturing industry is also gaining pace. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the district completed major projects such as the 206,000-square-meter Xintian Electronic Components Industrial Park and the Zhenhua Yunke National Key Industrial Base. Wudang has also established a national-level technology center, a National 863 Program achievement transformation base, and a CNAS-certified laboratory. The district now hosts 11 electronic information manufacturers above a designated size, with some enterprises rapidly growing through independent innovation and core technologies.

At the same time, Wudang district continues to advance technological transformation and industrial upgrading, enhancing industrial chain resilience. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the district's industrial added value above a designated size grew at an average annual rate of 4.8 percent. More than 25,000 new market entities were registered, and the number of high-tech enterprises reached 58. The Wudang Economic Development Zone was recognized as a "National Green Industrial Park", with the district hosting three national-level green factories and nine provincial-level ones.

Next, Wudang will continue to accelerate new industrialization and promote the coordinated development of health and pharmaceuticals, electronic information manufacturing, and eco-friendly specialty food industries.
