Guiyang ranks among Top 100 China Wellness Cities

The 4th China Health & Senior Care Conference released the Top 100 China Wellness Cities ranking for 2025, with Guiyang ranking fourth with a wellness index of 96.42.

Among the five primary indicators in the wellness city evaluation system, Guiyang ranked first in ecological environment and highly in industry integration, public well-being, and wellness policies.

In recent years, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area have upheld the dual principles of development and ecological protection, crafting a beautiful vision of green development and ecological harmony.

Guiyang and Gui'an's excellent air quality rate remains around 99 percent, placing them among the top performers. Guiyang enjoys a subtropical, humid, and temperate climate, with an annual average temperature of 15 C and a summer average of around 23 C, earning it the title of China's "Summer Resort Capital".

The forest coverage rate in Guiyang and Gui'an stably exceeds 55 percent, providing abundant forest resources and ecological landscapes that serve as robust ecological barriers and recreational spaces.

Beyond excellent ecological environment, Guiyang and Gui'an are rich in hot spring resources, traditional Chinese medicine materials, diverse ethnic cultural resources, profound historical heritage, and a comprehensive and multi-dimensional transportation network.

Guiyang and Gui'an have also addressed gaps in wellness services, establishing a full-chain support system covering healthcare, elderly care, and daily life.

Since the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, they have established two medical groups and 10 tertiary hospitals with over 8,000 new beds, providing robust security for the development of the wellness industry, and have built 106 elderly care institutions, with the total number of elderly care service beds reaching 11,400.
