Since the launch of Guiyang's 252 bus in June, also known as the "Huinong Express Line", this unique bus route has attracted widespread attention, sparking discussions and praise online. The reason? It was explicitly developed so that local villagers could sell vegetables in the city.

The route starts from Xiaba village in Guiyang's Wudang district. The village, home to over 1,000 Bouyei households, has long relied on city-bound homegrown produce sales as a supplemental source of income. With Guiyang's development, villagers have gained more income options, and many no longer depend on selling vegetables in the city.

However, many households still travel to town daily to sell their produce, leading to conflicts over bus space between farmers and regular commuters. Complaints about "baskets blocking the aisles" have been increasing each year, presenting Guiyang Public Transport Co with a difficult choice: How to balance public safety with supporting villagers' livelihoods?

After thorough research, the company introduced the "Huinong Express Line", designed to address safety and convenience needs. By optimizing bus schedules and offering earlier departures, the new line allows vegetable-selling villagers to travel during off-peak hours, effectively addressing safety concerns while meeting the community's needs.

Cheng Yunhua, a local villager, said that the express line has reduced the number of stops along the route and shortened the entire trip to just over 40 minutes. The bus not only delivers fresh vegetables to urban residents' tables but also boosts rural residents' incomes.
