Based on local resources, such as dead and dying trees and straw, Guizhou Yuju Biocultural Technology Co was established in Baiyi village of Wudang district in 2023.

The company processes wood and straw into an eco-friendly biomass pellet fuel that can replace ordinary coal. Beginning operation in October, 2023, the company's production generated sales of 570,000 yuan ($78,000) last year, which increased the village's collective economic income by more than 120,000 yuan.

The company's rapid development addressed the employment issues within Baiyi village, and the production of biomass pellet fuel also became the village's leading industry.

Furthermore, Wudang has introduced relevant enterprises to develop its seedling industry, and it also established a 1,400-mu (93.3-hectares) demonstration base for corn production.

The data shows that the per capita disposable income of rural residents in Wudang reached 25,595 yuan in 2023, indicating an increase of 7.7 percent compared to the previous year.

Moving forward, Wudang will continue to consolidate and promote its agricultural sector based on local features, thus enhancing the vitality and sustainability of rural development.
