Since the beginning of this year, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been working to increase farmers' incomes by employing a so-called "three ones" mechanism.
This mechanism adopts a resource allocation method consisting of "one household, one field, and one farm," concentrating rural land resources on a specific household through measures such as exchange, leasing, and equity participation. This aims to integrate scattered and unutilized lands into a contiguous and consolidated area, enabling the household to develop scaled agriculture and agricultural tourism.
So far, through exchanges and discussions, Wudang has successfully consolidated 11 fragmented pieces of land, with 11 households participating in land exchanges to consolidate plots covering more than 400 mu (26.67 hectares).
After completing the exchange and consolidation of farmland, the district invited experts to conduct landscape design based on the natural characteristics of the farmers' land plots, infrastructure, and the specific skills of the farmers. This involved providing technical guidance on production planning, setting aside areas for grain cultivation, and other actions. Based on the needs and design plans, assistance was provided for farmers in further improving their infrastructure.
In addition, the district issued an implementation plan to help farmers resolve funding problems and invited internet celebrities to promote the farms as well as broaden sales channels.
