Bamboo drifting performance staged in Wudang

A captivating bamboo drifting performance took place in Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 22, showcasing the charm of this traditional ethnic sports.

With a bamboo pole in hand, the performer balances nimbly on a narrow a piece of bamboo as they float down the river.

Over generations, this traditional activity has evolved into a distinctive folk sport in Wudang. This marks the 10th time that the district has held the bamboo drifting performance.

The Wudang Bamboo Drifting team is the only one of its kind in Guiyang. In recent years, Wudang has been committed to nurturing bamboo drifting talent as well as cultivating and expanding the inheritor team of bamboo drifting to promote its inheritance and development.
