During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays from Sept 29 to Oct 6, Wudang district in Guiyang received 541,500 visits, a year-on-year surge of 202.59 percent, bringing in a tourism income of 272 million yuan ($37.24 million), a year-on-year increase of 221.21 percent.

To welcome the two holidays, Wudang integrated local cultural and sports resources into tourism and planned an array of activities such as a rural walking invitational competition, garden parties, hot spring food festivals, study tours, family interactive events, and ethnic song and dance performances.

In addition, the district cooperated with multiple departments including the departments of public security, market regulation, and fire protection to carry out pre-holiday safety inspections. A total of 48 inspectors were dispatched before and during the holiday period to carry out safety supervision and guidance for 77 tourist attractions, hotels, entertainment venues, public cultural service venues and cultural relics protection units.

Thanks to such efforts, during the period, there were no major disasters, no safety accidents, and zero complaints from tourists in Wudang.
