From January to July, 5,533 college and university graduates landed jobs in Wudang district of Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, representing 72.8 percent of the district's employment target for 2023.
Among those graduates, 4,807 hail from colleges and universities in Guizhou, with the remainder coming from other provinces.
To further promote employment among new graduates, Wudang has been encouraging enterprises this year to create as many jobs as they can. So far, the district has visited 30 companies, securing an additional 1,000 positions for new jobseekers.
Meanwhile, Wudang has promoted the enhanced cooperation between universities and enterprises to build new modes of talent cultivation and employment. Developing internships has also become a new channel for the district to promote graduate employment. To date, 413 such placements have been created, benefiting over 190 graduates.
In addition to this, efforts have been made by the district to organize 11 job fairs with 552 enterprises participating and 1,919 positions offered.
The district has allocated a special fund to support eight enterprises to recruit people from outside the province, while also cooperating with local colleges and universities to provide training for graduates to help them get started in business. Some 1,145 people have received the training thus far.
