Wudang celebrates Bouyei ethnic festival

Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, launched an array of activities to celebrate the sixth day of the sixth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, which is an important traditional festival for the Bouyei people and fell on July 23 this year.

A number of Bouyei people dressed in ethnic costumes participated in the grand celebration. They welcomed visitors from all over the world by playing trombones, singing Bouyei welcome songs, and dancing with bamboo poles.

In addition, 13 folk song teams from all over the province competed and performed songs such as "Pianpo village is a Good Place" and "National Songs Spread in All Directions", showcasing the appeal of their folk music. An ethnic gala featured 16 captivating performances.

In addition to performances, visitors also experienced local activities such as catching fish in rice paddies and catching chickens in the grassland. In the evening, a rural beer and music festival was held.
