Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will implement several measures to promote green living.

To achieve such goals, policies on improving the quality of green living and promoting low-carbon transportation, the industrialization of green buildings, and the standardization of recycling will be carried out.

According to the plan, Wudang will increase the number of green areas in urban environments, improve rural settlements, eliminate black and odorous water bodies in rural areas, and further promote the prevention and control of air and water pollution.

By 2023, the per capita green area in Wudang's urban areas will reach 14.5 square meters; by 2025, the per capita green area will reach 15.5 sq m.

Meanwhile, Wudang will further improve its domestic waste sorting, collection and transportation systems, and upgrade its domestic waste disposal facilities. The district also aims to realize the full coverage of domestic waste sorting facilities and systems in its residential communities.

By 2023, the resource utilization rate of domestic waste will reach 65 percent; and by 2025, this rate will reach 80 percent.

Moreover, Wudang will promote the use of new energy vehicles and environmentally-friendly transportation facilities.

By 2023, the number of new energy and clean energy buses will account for 99.80 percent of the district's total. The proportion of green travel in Wudang's central urban area is also set to reach 68 percent by 2023, and then increase to 70 percent by 2025.

Additionally, Wudang will continue to promote the green transformation of existing buildings, and promote the use of prefabricated buildings and green low-carbon building materials. The district will encourage the construction of ultra-low energy consumption buildings and near zero energy consumption buildings, while also promoting the integrated application of buildings and photovoltaics.

By 2023, the proportion of newly-built green buildings in Wudang's urban areas and towns will reach 75 percent, and the proportion of prefabricated buildings there will be 40 percent. By 2025, those numbers are expected to reach 100 percent and 60 percent, respectively.
