Wudang's tourism industry recovers gradually

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that it is necessary to promote the in-depth integration of culture and tourism, clarifying a new path for Wudang district in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, to improve people's well-being and boost tourism and modernization.

Relying on its natural assets such as mountains, waters, forests and springs, Wudang district will create a new center for the high-quality development of global tourism and focus on cultivating new products that meet market demand.

The district has followed the tourism development model of "one center and three areas" and developed many boutique routes.

It has set up a "tourism plus" model to improve its brand image and created brands such as the hot spring tour, rural tourism featuring agricultural landscape gardens as well as leisure trips based on local cultures.

For instance, the district has built a special food ecological park in Huoshipo where tourists can fully appreciate the natural beauty.

Wudang is also cultivating market players such as star-rated travel agencies and hotels, encouraging enterprises in the accommodation industry above the designated size to apply to become "summer resort hotels" and star-rated hotels and supporting the expansion of cultural and tourism enterprises.

It is also strengthening policy support for tourism enterprises, standardizing the market and comprehensively improving the quality of services.
