The Wudang district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently launched a three-year action plan to develop its homestays sector.

Under the plan, by the end of 2025, Wudang will add one new homestays village, 56 homestays buildings and 400 homestays rooms. This is expected to make homestays a new growth springboard for urban and rural economic development and a new bright spot for rural revitalization there.

The district is understood to be committed to building a homestays sector featuring cultural characteristics, regional brands and an improved industry system.

In so doing, Wudang will build a batch of homestays clusters in the district's Pianpo, Xiayuan, Toubao, Matou, Wanggang, Longjiao and Yangchang villages -- relying on their lush mountains, lucid waters and rich cultural resources.

Residents, experts, academics, retired people, university graduates and returned migrant workers are being encouraged to participate in local homestays development and operation.
