Improvements to the rural road network in the Wudang district of Guiyang – the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – are understood to have driven the rapid development of the countryside and boosted local rural revitalization.
Statistics from Wudang showed that the total length of rural roads built there has reached 858.5 kilometers.
All 76 administrative villages and eight townships and towns under the jurisdiction of Wudang now have access to roads.
At present, the level of rural roads with a good quality in Wudang has reached 94 percent, while the greening rate of county roads there is 90 percent.
Meanwhile, the greening rate of township roads is 85 percent and the greening rate of village roads is about 80 percent. This is expected to provide a strong boost to rural transportation and assist in the economic and social development of the region.

Taking advantage of the improved rural road network, Wudang is upgrading its rural development mode – combining transportation with logistics, tourism and industry.
As a result, countryside sightseeing destinations – including Yangchang Huahua Town, Pianpo Yuanwei Town and Xinbao Fumei village – are enjoying rising popularity with short-distance trip tourists.
Moreover, the Huoshipo Food Industrial Park, the Smart Yunjin Industrial Incubation Base and the Baiyi Tianhui Tea Garden have achieved rapid development in the wake of better transport access.
Additionally, more and more residents living in Wudang's rural areas are getting convenient services, including express deliveries and e-commerce services.
